What is Ration Card?

Ration card is a document issued by government that allows individuals and Families to purchase essential food items like Rice, Wheat, Suger ect…at subsidy Rate to the Public Distribution System.

Types Of Ration Card

Based on The Financial Stability and Social category, There Are Four Types of Ration Cards are There. We Can Easly Identify Them by THeir Colour (White, Blue,Pink,Yellow). These Are Classified By APL (Above Poverty Line) and BPL (Below Poverty Line).

 

How to Apply For A Ration Card?

We Can Apply For a New Ration Card by pds portal by government of Kerala. 

For application you must create an account in pds portal and submit the application along with the documents as follows:

  1. Photo (Family Head)
  2. Adhar Card (All Members)
  3. Transfer Certificate (If Needed)
  4. Marrige Certificate
  5. Birth Certificate (For Children)
  6. Income Certificate
  7. Ownership Certificate
  8. BPL Certificate (If Required)
  9. Bank Passbook
  10. Electricity Consumer Number
  11. Gas Consumer Number

BPL Card Conversion

ThIf You are eligible, You Can Covert Your APL Ration Card TO Bpl Card.

Eligibility Criteria :

  1. Income of the Family should be Less than one lack.
  2. The House Must be Less Than 2000 Square Feet.
  3. There Should be No Private Four-Wheeler In the Family (Above 1000 CC)
  4. Government Servants And Income Tax Payers are Exempt From BPL Benefits.

Documents Required For BPL Conversion

  • Adhar Card
  • BPL CERtificate
  • Income Certificatre
  • Building Certificate

Additon Of A Member / Remove A Member

To add new Member to the Ration Card, You Need The Following Documents:

  1. Id Proof
  2. Income Certificate (If Needed)
  3. Birth Certificate (For Children)
  4. Marrige Certificate (IF Needed)

To remove A Member to the Ration Card, You need the Following Document(s):

  1. Death Certificate
